Climbing Out Of The Man Box

How does living in the man box limit you?

How does masculine coding contain you?

In this workshop we will step out toward our edges, confront our fears of the feminine, and attempt to find greater joy, freedom, and access to the abundance of our humanity.

What does it mean to be an embodied man?

What are the specific markers of gender and why were they placed there?  How can we expand our notions of masculinity to make it a larger and more luxurious space? Alternatively, can we create our own mosaic of gender with intention rather than accept the default versions?

A few years back, I had one of those light bulb moments when I first really noticed gender. Soon after, I realized how hard we work as a society to expand the differences between male and female. And then I couldn’t stop noticing how the enforcement mechanisms of dress and appearance limited me almost every moment of every day. Tepidly, I started to ignore some of those markers. Soon, gateways opened for me to think about how I limit myself in areas far removed from dress and appearance.

Breaking the enforcement mechanism opened up my vision to wide vistas.  Over this time period I have experienced great joys and confronted intense fears. The exploration prompted me to re-examine my relationship to work and success, how I care for my physical and emotional health, my relationship to my body and sexual desire, masculinity and being  a subject of desire, how I communicate, and how I socialize and enter relationships. And, oh yeah, I forgot to mention one other thing: I became multi-orgasmic. Yeah baby! Overall it has been an exuberantly joyful and meaningful ride for me so far. Now I want to share my experience with others.

During the workshop, each at our own comfort levels, we will explore the following:

  • Finding the marking points of masculinity

  • Our most manly male parts and femininity?!

  • Men have legs and toes and butts and eyes and lips

  • Clothing, self-expression, and equality as subjects of desire

  • Support me, see me, and barriers to non-sexual touch

This workshop is geared toward men, gnc and non-binary male-bodied folks, and anybody who feels like they have been conditioned to live inside the structures of masculine coding.

This is an inclusive space for everyone to feel welcome and loved.
